With Google Tone, you can talk with your friends and colleagues and send links to a nearby device while sharing the URL of any web page, including news stories, pictures, documents, blog posts, products, YouTube videos, recipes, and even search results.
Any device within earshot (including over a phone or Hangout) that also has the Google Tone extension installed and turned ON can receive a Google Tone notification. This will let you send the URL for any website, including news articles and product information.
Google Tone is an internet radio and a voice chat, which means you can send a URL directly to a device's microphone and get a Google Tone notification.
